Teen and Young Adult Residential Program for Trauma and Mental Health
Located in Delta County, Colorado
Our teen & young adult residential program is built on an ecotherapy model including specialized Equine Assisted Therapy sessions and wilderness therapy. The program is flexible and can be customized to meet each participant's needs. Psychiatric staff are available.
Four or more hours per day will be spent in personalized sessions. Our teen program shares most of the session components of the adult residential therapy program, but with some additional options.
For teens and young adults:
- To help keep up with school, half the day is available for outside class work and a tutor can be hired to assist.
- The Phoenix Rising Valuing Cultural Diversity program - understanding and valuing differences in others. Using those differences to enhance problem solving.
- The Phoenix Rising Just Say Whoa Program - for defiant, high-risk youth.
- Weekend sessions are available, but weekends will be mostly focused on keeping up with school work.
There are 10 spots available for teens and young adults at any one time. There is separate housing for female and male participants. We keep the groups small and focused. It is about teens and young adults learning to value themselves and work well with others. Age ranges 10 to 18 years. Young Adults 18 to 25 years.
The program is 3-6 months and is self-pay, not covered by insurance.
